Friends of Jacksonville Animals promoting mission around town

Friends of Jacksonville Animals (FOJA) will be at the following events to promote their mission of helping Jacksonville’s shelter animals.  Shelter dogs will also be on hand and available for adoption at the off-site events.


 

  • Saturday, September 1:  Animal Care and Protective Services will host “Labor of Love Adoption Event” (2020 Forest Street) from 10am to 4pm with a special adoption rate of $20. A Dogs/Puppies 101 Educational Seminar will take place on site at 11:00am. This is a free class where attendees will learn the basics of their new canine companion – crate training, leash walking, leadership and housetraining.  FOJA’s SHAMPOOCH! will be on-site for a charity dog wash.  A $10 donation is suggested.  In addition, On The Fly food truck will be on-site.
  • Wednesday, September 5: FOJA and First Coast No More Homeless Pets will have a booth at Pet Walk (Florida Theatre, 128 E. Forsyth St.) from 5pm to 8pm.  Information will be provided about FOJA to educate the community on what they do to assist Animal Care and Protective Services.  FOJA merchandise, including reusable shopping bags and t-shirts, will be available.
  • Saturday, September 8: FOJA will be at the beaches Pet SuperMarket located at 609 Beach Blvd. from 10am to 2pm.
  • Saturday, September 8: FOJA will have a cat adoption event at the Regency PetSmart located at 356 Monument Road from 10am to 2pm.

Tuesday, September 11:  California Pizza Kitchen will donate 20% of proceeds from that day’s business to FOJA when customers present the donation flyer. The donation flyer may be downloaded from www.friendsofjaxanimals.com under the “Events” tab.
